Our programme has been developed by school teachers to run in parallel with the British academic system. We stay current with classroom language, teaching techniques and approach to learning as a whole. Classes are split into age and ability groups, we have a clearly defined syllabus and students are expected to complete homework and sit exams. Playing our part: when parents, school teachers and sensei are all using the same language the boost in progress is immeasurable.
Developing confidence is central to our programme. We ensure all students experience success. Pussycats to tigers: we work with shy children to find their 'inner tiger’. On the road to Black Belt parents can expect their children to find the confidence to leader for the younger and lower grade members.
We believe that important concepts such as discipline, anger management, responsibility and self-control need to be taught explicitly and in a structured programme, rather than assuming that these important tenets of martial arts will be absorbed during physical training.
Our unique programme combines ancient martial arts with modern life coaching. Our mission is to equip children with the mental tools to reach their potential in whatever field they choose and be ready for the 'real' world as they reach adulthood.
We teach that there is no such word as ‘can’t’; that there are no problems or barriers blocking our way, only challenges which can be embraced and conquered. We teach how to make good, responsible decisions and to see things from the perspective of others.
We build self-discipline, increased self-esteem, a positive mental attitude and a spirit of constant improvement. These values lead to success beyond the practice of martial arts; in academic and social environments as well as strengthening career prospects.
